Micheal Meechan

Hello and thank you for letting me join this group. I am the Halifax Town historian. I wonder if someone could help identify a player who played for the club back in 1912. He was Michael Meechan, known to have played for Addiewell United prior to joining Halifax Town. I have found him listed living at Longanlea on the 1911 Census - his parents were Martin & Mary - living in Addiewell, born in West Calder. Trying to find his date of birth with this info but his certificate doesn't seem to show, although his younger brothers John and Patrick's do.

I notice a Joe Meechan (Loganlea) on your two football group photos and wonder whether he was related to Michael. Michael himself seemingly returned to Scotland in December 1912 and played for Fauldhouse.

Any information would be helpful. According to the 1911 Census Michael was 18 years old, therefore born around 1893/94. I have found a Michael Meechan born in 1894 in Coatbridge, but I don't think this is him because his father is listed as Michael - not Martin - and his younger brothers are registered at West Calder, the place of Michael's birth.
